You are right, I mixed that up. I have a pretty high opinion of Vaclav Havel. He (the prime minister) also made a comparison between Haider and Hitler -- might have to do with the upcoming election campaign.

[Germans after WW2] Nothing was waiting for them. They couldn't bring much with them. They had to start from absolutely nothing, not unlike Palestinians.

That's right but they (we) got much support from the US (Marshall Plan). Without it things might look different today (e.g. if the allies had decided to apply the Morgenthau plan).
