Oliver North are, in fact, American heroes who were doing what was necessary to protect this country They were in specific violation of Congressional statues, and lied to cover it up. As well as shredded papers, arrogantly giving Congress, and the American people, the finger. That's hard to justify. Especially when it has been shown that the violence down there was escalated by Casey & Co., who ran drugs as well as guns. Neither patriotic nor legal, nor an increase in security.

Hi Ann, Re: We should disband the Special Prosecutor office You must have missed the news. We did exactly that about two years ago, when the enabling legislation to continue the office of Special Prosecutor was allowed to die in the Congress. Re: & put in place a law that protects the President from legal charges, Insanely stupid idea, Ann. This is exactly the sort of rulemaking that Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin and Mobutu Sese Seko relied on to increase their power to destroy their own citizens. The checks and balances that our Founding Fathers put in place with near equal powers for the legislative, judicial and executive branches has proven over time to be the most intelligent way humans have come up with to deal with the arrogance of unlimited power in the hands of a megalomaniac. Dubya doesn't need any more power. In my opinion, he needs to be more controlled by the citizens of this nation, via our elected representatives.
