I was starting to get into a better mood until you mentioned Pat Buchanon - what an idiot!

Did you notice the other day that the Saudis advised us to pay for a rebuilding of Palestinian territories? Then we learn that they are helping pay terrorist's families. If they want Palestine rebuilt let them pay for it. The ungrateful creeps. I am beginning to think we need to topple every arab regime and replace the leaders with descent human beings.

Mike...for the most part I'm a student of history. I'd rather read a couple of history books more than any other activity.

Every thing Israel is doing now and is going to do in the next few months has already been played out a dozen times in history with other countries at other times.

From a historical standpoint Israel is playing their hand very poorly. The US is also playing a poor hand.

Look what Israel has done so far.

1) They have unified all the Arab states against them and the the US. The last time that happened was when Nassar was ruler of Egypt and he tried to form a Pan Arab League (1958?). Now the Arab states are just as fractuous as American political parties in the US. Now for the first time in 60 years they are united in opinion and opposition to Israel. Sharon and Netanyahu need a public opinion advisor that will tell them that if you do such and such the public opinion of the world will be such and such.

2) It was outright stupid of Israel to try and humiliate Arafat. Now they are going to have to eat crow and deal with him like it or not.

3) Since Hamas is the group claiming responsibility for the attacks on Israel, why is not the Israeli emphasis more in this area.

3) Arafat and Sharon both have too much blood on their hands to be the new leaders of Palestine in the future.

The Jewish settlements in Palestine are a piece of land that Israel will have to walk away from. History is not on the Israeli side.

Its not a matter of Europe turning anti-Israel and pro Arab as you suggest. Its more of a case of understanding how things will play out based on historical comparisons.

Israel on the West Bank has got the wrong objectives and the wrong policies in place. If you consider that opinion as being anti-semetic...so be it .You are entitled to your opinions.
