That has been Hamas' goal all along. Ever since I can recall, they frothed at the mouth whenever there was a hint of a peace process, vowing to kill any such initiatives. A strategy that's been working like a charm, no ?

However, I'm not certain that having them to negotiate with would be the worst thing for Israel - Arafat enjoys immense respect on the part of the Europeans, after all he's a Nobel Peace Prize winner and all.

With Hamas it's perfectly clear where they are coming from, their remarks are openly published in English.
