Hello Crossy,

Seems you and I either own or follow a number of the same stocks, so I'd like to get your views on one of your former holdings, MKSI.

You've made several references to selling out your position in favor of other prospects, so obviously you see better value elsewhere. I never really felt comfortable with MKSI, which I only got after they bought out ASTX. As I recall, our new MKSI shares were then worth about $17.

That said, it's performed really well, and is now double its initial level for us ASTX veterans. As a result, I have postponed a number of decisions to liquidate my holdings. Instead, I've been selling off bits and pieces but still have a good chunk.

If it's not too much trouble, I'd welcome your thoughts on MKSI and the (possible) source of its current strength. The company just made another acquisition, and I fear they may have got themselves in "roll up" mode, chasing growth by buying others rather than growing their own business organically. On the other hand, they sure got ASTX at a steal, so perhaps they are very good at this and should be encouraged.

BTW - I've done very well in TRKN and GGNS since we last communicated, although I recently took all my gains in the former off the table. I'm still watching then, however.

best rgds,
Jonathan
