Caotholic church did not join the resistanse (mainly in France) but rather provided for resistance safe places to hide jews. re: For example, they killed every single one in a village when they learned that people from that village helped the resistance. In Byeolarussia, where I came from, Germans burned over a hundred villages together with population.
