Albert, In Byeolarussia, where I came from, Germans burned over a hundred villages together with population. That did not stop resistance in that area. It depends if the resistance is futile. If it was, Belorussians were slow learners, if the resistance was not futile (which turned out to be the case), I guess it was worth it. mass suicide? Massive response. Palestinians are doing the best they can, Israel is using 1% of the possible terror it can bring on it's enemies, and it looks like a stalemate. This is a very bad impression for Israel to allow to exist, because to the youngsters amoung the Palestinians, it looks like they are almost winning, and makes them more enthusiastic about their cause. Israel has not not found (or chose not to use) effective weapon to combat the suicide bombers. Joe
