I think you are wrong about Iraq and Iran. They both seem to realize that their 1980s war when the US encouraged then ally Sadaam Hussein to attack Iran hurt both of them and benefited primarily the US and Israel. They still do not like each other, but neither sees the other as their PRIMARY enemy any more.

BTW if Chavez really is back in power, that bodes ill for global stock markets tomorrow.

No comment on Iraq, Iran, or Mid-East politics ... I just want to point out that DEBKA has NO CREDIBILITY in my opinion. They published all sorts of hysterical stories during the Afghanistan war about nuclear weapons being used, imminent invasion of Chinese troops across the border, etc. These guys are the National Enquirer of military reporting.
