Sorry, Dave. What Enron did has everything to do with capitalism. It's a lesson on the issues of unregulated free-markets, globalization, free trade and privatisation versus regulated markets, public ownership of services and trade agreements that pass muster only after close public scrutiny. What Enron did outside the US would never have been allowed here. And what they did here was criminal. They took advantage of every loophole, skirted every law, and paid politicians to open markets and protect the secrecy of their offshore deals. If that wasn't capitalism to its unfettered lawless extreme, then what the heck was it?
