Yes, Am Spirit, I admire McCain as well. A Bush/McCain ticket would have been my 1st choice in 2000.
They seem to have conflicting egos, however, so that probably wouldn't have worked out.

My favorite moderate Repubs are Bob Dole, Jean Kirkpatrick, Alan Simpson & Tom Ridge. I cannot believe that the liberals consider Tom Ridge to be far right. In fact, he's pro-choice--that's why the Falwell/Robertson crowd wouldn't approve of him as the V.P. candidate in 2000. The one issue that the Repubs have yet to get correct is the "A" word (just the mention of the word sets the fundmentalists in a tizzy on this board:^).....due to the bible belt crowd. Well, they need to be brought up to speed on the environment as well. But, on the most important issue of the day--a strong military & decisive action in response to terrorism--they have the right stuff.
