It means everything.
The Bible has to be the most influential book
ever. (If you believe it or not.)
It is the land given by God.
If you don't believe that, there is no other people
associated as much to a land by historical documented record as the connection between the Jews and Israel.
And if you don't believe that, it doesn't matter,
because even non-Jews like me will defend the Jewish state
to the death.

The royal family of ancient Judah was called beit David - house of David. That royal family was descended from somebody - clearly someone named David. It's silly to consider David non-existent, regardless of whether his kingdom was as grand as described in the Bible.

And the modern archeology which you are quoting views ancient Israelites and Judeans as groups which developed in Canaan from people resident there - i.e. this would mean Jews are Canaanites.
