Looks like they have a real TBred Desktop CPU, not an engineering sample.
The article is really descripting what they 'see' and plus bit more info
we may not know yet..

1) TBred has 462 pins Socket A design, matches current Athlon and Duron mobos.
there were comparision on Intel's product with AMD's.

2) Die size is 80mm2, 37.5% smaller than Paly AXP and 33.3% smaller than TBirds.
TBred: 11mm x 7.3mm = 80 mm2
Paly XP: 11mm x 11.66mm = 128 mm2

3) One the TBred, labels 'AXDA1800DUT3C', what does it mean?
A ---- Athlon
X ---- Athlon XP
D ---- Desktop CPU
A ---- ??? maybe .13u process
1800 ---- PR rating 1800+
D ---- OPGA packaging code
U ---- U means core valtage 1.6V, AXP is 1.75V currently.
T ---- Dir temperature. 90c for 1800A+
3 ---- code of L3 Cashe sice, 3=256K.
C ---- 266Mhz.

next label: 'AIPCA 0208 TPBW'
AIPCA ---- production number
0208 ---- produced on 8th week of 2002.
TPBW ---- AMD symbol, ???

What is new in Tbred.
1) same Cashe L1/L2 = 128/256K.
2) lower core valtage, lower power consumsion.
3) smaller die in .13u.
4) Added SSE2 and plus ...(they don't know what, they know has something else).

Thanks chchang for the link
in Chinese from Taiwan...

Andreas notwithstanding the truth in your observations, I believe elmer's infraction more worthy of a warning than a citation
