Does someone know how much additional logic (transistors) would be required for such an addition? We have to keep in mind that Thoroughbred has 37 million transistors (see AMD annual report page one, quote by Hector) -- that's the same Palomino has. So all additional features can only consume a few hundred thousand transistors at best. If there are any at all.

So does this mean that the die was only shrunk in one direction? Excuse my naiveté, but isn't it odd for one of the dimensions to remain at 11mm?
