I don't believe the CIA was actually selling drugs, Am Spirit. A few of their assets were however which shed a negative light on the agency. That's the tradeoff--for example, in order to gain valuable information about possible future terrorism, it's necessary for agents to associate with very sleazy characters. The payoff though, is finding that one kernel of information that prevents an attack. Judging from the following, I would say the CIA had rolled in the mud with the drug dealers in order to receive valuable information but did not actually sell drugs. Which is more important.....learning from a drug dealer that al Qaeda is planning to blow up a football stadium during the Superbowl OR fingering one drug dealer?
