"Less than 10% reduction in US usage, if taken from the M.E., would crash their economy and cause the Saudis to either modify their government"

You may be right here. I noticed that you did not answer my question though. For those who are curious, about 10% of U.S. oil consumption is from ME sources. The Europeans on the other hand use a lot (upwards of 30%). It is my belief that this is the reason they side with terrorists when choosing who to back in the Isreali-Palestinian conflict.

Even though I slammed you in my last post, I AGREE WITH YOU that we should find a way to do without this 10%. Should be relatively easy imo. I would like to see some of these contries that I am learning to hate have to make it on their own.

An interesting fact I heard on Fox the other day is that 70% of Saudis are under 30 and the rulers there have basically squandered the oil money so there is not the future for these people that there could have been. The problem is if the Saud's fall, they might be replaced by a Taliban like regime. IMO, the Middle East will be a trouble spot for many years to come, maybe as many as I have left on this planet.
