The Europeans haven't sided with the terrorists in the ME conflict, they just recognize that both sides have terrorists as heads of state.

A true radical taught us to love our enemies. You could spend a life time contemplating the implications and how to implement that one.

I would like to see some of these contries that I am learning to hate have to make it on their own.

Well, that's less hostile, and we even agree on some things

And the European issue is something I didn't think of, which may go a long way towards explaining that influence.

They also have much more leeway to change that influence, since the actual oil costs are only 25% of the cost of fuel, and the rest is taxes.

Yes, but that might involve applying some European ideas, which seems to be anathema to many here. I'm talking about fast, reliable mass transit systems in all major cities, so that most of the population doesn't have to drive to work by themselves in a gas guzzling automobile like I do.
