Infonet Provides Global Network for Industry Leader, Nypro
Company's Global Networking Solution Provides Increased Throughput, Reduced Cost and Connects Employees at 27 Plants in 12 Countries

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 2002-- Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN; FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, today announced that it is providing worldwide network services for Nypro, the industry leader in injection molding-based services and manufacturing solutions. The implementation of this global infrastructure enables Nypro to provide access to its ERP system and corporate intranet for employees from China to Hungary, as well as enabling customers and members of its supply chain to access the company's global extranet.

For more than 45 years, Nypro has provided the highest quality molding and manufacturing solutions to customers in global healthcare, high-tech, automotive and consumer products throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. With state-of-the-art facilities throughout the world, Nypro offers a range of services, from initial product design and development to rapid prototyping and manufacturing solutions. Operating 27 plants and offices throughout the world, Nypro is employee-owned with about $800 million in annual sales and 9,000 employees.

Nypro anticipated that its wide area network (WAN) would be able to provide access to its ERP system and corporate intranet globally. The information sharing that takes place over the corporate intranet was also a major driver for global access, as employees rely heavily on the knowledge management and best practices information available on that intranet. What Nypro discovered is that its WAN did not work well overseas, particularly in China, with Nypro intending to build five plants in the region by the end of this calendar year. While Shel Cooper, Nypro's Director of Technical Services, was relatively pleased with the company's domestic communications provider, he sought an alternative for the company's international access and support. Over the course of three months, Nypro evaluated vendors on the basis of coverage and service-level agreements. "Infonet's customer references had global sites similar to ours and were happy with Infonet -- that's what sold me. With Infonet, we get four times the throughput, with 25% less cost than our domestic provider, and our people love the Infonet connection," Cooper observed.

"As a global company, we understand the communications requirements of companies like Nypro, and are pleased that our customers made selecting Infonet a comfortable decision for Nypro," stated Larry Malone, President of Infonet USA. "We are proud to build on our experience in this area and to create an opportunity for Nypro to foster and maintain best practices and provide access to critical company information," he concluded
