Tessenderlo Group and Infonet Expand Global Network Services Contract

BRUSSELS, Belgium & EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 14, 2002--

International Chemicals Group Signs Exclusive Three-Year Contract to

Support Centralized SAP System and Global Business Strategy for Growth

Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN; FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications for multinationals, today announced that Tessenderlo Group, the leading international chemicals group, has extended and expanded its contract with Infonet by an additional three years to build a comprehensive global network to support the company's customer-focused business strategy and international expansion.

Tessenderlo Group is drawing upon Infonet's Application-Defined Networking approach to prioritize the access to the centralized applications in Brussels on an SAP Enterprise Resource Planning system. Infonet's ADN approach alleviates the burden of internal IT resources, allowing the subsidiaries' employees to focus on their core business objectives.

Tessenderlo Group is an international chemicals group with global reach for over 112 branches in 22 countries, and employs approximately 8,000 people, of which 2,500 are located in Belgium. For three years, Infonet has managed international data communications services for Tessenderlo Group and their subsidiary, LVM (Limburgse Vinyl Maatschappij), which ranks amongst the top European polyvinyl chloride (PVC) manufacturers. After a comprehensive review of five potential suppliers, Tessenderlo Group selected Infonet to expand its contract to provide communications services for the rollout of all platforms throughout the group.

For a new term of three years, Infonet will continue to manage the company's global network of subsidiaries, connecting multiple sites in Europe, specifically in Belgium, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy and the United Kingdom. As Tessenderlo Group continues to develop, the communications infrastructure is designed to gradually migrate to an IP-based network without a significant cost. Currently, the company is in the process of centralizing data centers in Brussels, Belgium, with a plan of bringing additional subsidiaries on board over the next months.

"The most important factors for our choice of Infonet were its worldwide reach, the security of its global network and quality of service aspects. In addition, Infonet's reporting system is first class, providing our organization with online access to valuable information that supports our strategic decisions and capacity management," commented Nicolas Capidis, Network Manager at Tessenderlo Group.

Tessenderlo Group's subsidiaries will require the involvement of the Infonet project team at both the business and IT levels.

"Infonet's ADN approach provides the perfect synergy with our business requirements of 24/7 availability and high response time. We are currently testing additional Infonet solutions our employees can rely on to access the network, whether traveling or in the office," continued Capidis.

"We are very pleased to expand our relationship to involve the entire Tessenderlo Group. This win underlines the value multinational corporations see in Infonet's Application-Defined Networking approach towards providing global communications services at the business strategy level," concluded Michel Vervoort, General Manager of Infonet Belgium.
