The membership in these groups, at least on its fringes, harbors some of the most objectionable anti-Semitic folk in the country. Is it just the leadership? Is something more going on?

Like who? I'm not aware of much anti-Semitism at all coming from the Christian fundamentalists. A lot of the extreme fundamentalists are practically philosemitic, like that Texas lot who are funding the red heifer project.

The antisemitism I've seen has come from the nativist movements, 'the black helicopters of the UN are coming' sort of crowd. Those guys are big buyers of conspiracy theories, Zionist world domination being a perennial favorite.

turned on that a/c today? I don't think I've ever done so this early in the spring

I guess the heat you are getting on this thread is warming you up, John. :)

OT - We turned on the A/C last night, it was over 80 inside. It was 90 today outside. I was just remembering that I was wearing shorts to class the first couple of weeks in January, there was a hot spell then, too. The weather weirdness killed one young apricot tree, but everything else is blooming, making lots of pollen, and my new bee hive (first for me!) seems to be happy.

I am struggling with learning how to make navigation buttons.

The Middle East has gone back to seeming surreal, and remote, and I have actually started listening to music again instead of C-Span when I am driving.

The events of 9/11 made me hypervigilant, like someone with post traumatic stress disorder, but I have decided that it's out of my hands, and I will get on with what I can control
