Typically, a dictatorsip like any other gov't is either left of center, right of center or in the middle. USSR's was right of center.

A rather novel placement of communism on the political spectrum.

Not novel.......Russia only pretended to practice communism.....had there been real communism there would not have been a dictatorship in place. For an example, in communism, the workers are supposed to own the factories. They were told that they owned them in Russia but in practice, the profits went to the ruling leaders and the workers saw squat.

What would a left of center dictatorship look like in your opinion?

I told you........Castro and some of the S. American dictatorships. I can't tell you which ones because I've lost track of who's what in S. America. Castro's Cuba actually is closer to communism than Russia ever was. However, Castro is definitely a dictator.
