That IS a beautiful song. Does that mean if I sing to you you will listen to me? I will apologize in advance for the #3 label. I confess that I hit submit because the phone rang-- normally that wouldn;t have made it to publication. I just know everyone is wondering what awful things I REALLY am writing that I never post. hehehe. Actually, I wasn't arguing that gays aren't promiscuous, I was arguing that men ARE, and when you are dealing with only a male population, one whose relationships aren't encouraged or sanctioned by society, it WILL increase promiscuity. Heterosexual males are obviously less likely to contract AIDS because they are saved from their own promiscuous nature by us women :); they enter social contracts that validate and approve their relationship with one person. Also since we are less likely to be carriers, hetero men, even when very promiscuous, are far less likely to come into contact with the virus. Of course, it happens, like with Magic Johnson. Again, I think you are not considering all the options. MEN by nature, are promiscuous.

The ultimate proof of gay male promiscuity is the fact that AIDS is overwhelmingly a male homosexual disease primarily spread by sexual contact ... something that is NOT occurring in the male heterosexual population. Heterosexual men in the US are less likely to contract HIV because 1) it started in the gay population and 2) the party on the torn-tissue side of the transaction is more vulnerable to infection. They would be as promiscuous as gay males, given the opportunity. That is a simple consequence of the instinct-driven male sexual imperative: spread the seed as widely as you can. In an environment where all the players share this imperative, opportunities for promiscuity will be greater. Gay men have more partners for the same reason that dogs lick their own sex organs: because they can.
