Tell me, why is no Luftwaffe pilots were ever charged with war crimes for attacking columns with civilian refugees. Everything of any military value was evacuated by trains and cars so those columns had zero military value. Germany was tried for war crimes but that was not among them. No one ever argued that it should be, do you think they should?

A good argument could be made that they should have been charged with war crimes, but if you are going after all the ordinary soldiers and airmen that committed crimes like these in WWII you would have had a long list of people to prosecute.

It was a mistake
eh? what german pilots did is a mistake and what british and american did is a crime?

You misunderstand my point. It was a mistake in the sense that it was something stupid that they did that they should not have done. It was not a mistake in the sense that it was done by accident. Many stupid mistakes are still crimes.
