It was a mistake
eh? what german pilots did is a mistake and what british and american did is a crime?

You misunderstand my point. It was a mistake in the sense that it was something stupid that they did that they should not have done. It was not a mistake in the sense that it was done by accident. Many stupid mistakes are still crimes.

Tim, I don't think he missed your point. I think you are anti American!! <g>

re: but if you are going after all the ordinary soldiers and airmen that committed crimes like these in WWII you would have had a long list of people to prosecute

if someone commits a crime does it really matter for law enforcement that the judge is overloaded with work?

What about Generals?

re: Many stupid mistakes are still crimes.

I came from a country where during the W.W.II German soldiers made 22 million mistakes. Bombing of Dresden helped eastern front and saved lives of those who suffered already.

If a gunman stand surrounded by children firing and killing other children what are those with bigger guns should do?

What are Israeli's to do when few kill their children and hiding in the civilian crowds and protected by local laws?

What are allies to do when there are supply trains are going via Dresden?

Always remember Golda's words that Z posted recently......
