What control over individual rights do you think I feel the government ought to have other that strict enforcement of existing laws and protective regulations? I can't think of any off-hand.

The Bush administration is actually increasing government control and scrutiny over individual rights, but perhaps it is necessary. Right-wingers who were fighting the feds during the Clinton administration are now yelling for stronger federal law enforcement. Ironic.

However, the GOP is for much less regulation of corporations (letting corporate lobbyists make their own rules) which as we know can lead to immediate massive white collar crime at tax-payer expense a la Enron and the S+L's, price-fixing and gouging of consumers.

Actually the two parties aren't thaty far apart on any of this though.
