The Marshall Space Flight Center established the Huntsville Operational Support Center (HOSC) at the MSFC where the bulk of the Saturn engineers could monitor and support launch activity. It all cost a bundle of $$$ too. After Pres. Kennedy was killed, Pres. Johnson moved the responsibility to Houston (his home state), and built a new facility called Mission Control. The HOSC was never used. There was very little mention of this in the media at the time.
