Fab 30 Wafer Fabrication Facility

Fab 30, AMD's European state-of-the art manufacturing facility for advanced microprocessor products, is rising up on a 75 acre site on the northern edge of the city of Dresden, the state capital of Saxony. AMD announced the project in December 1995, and ground breaking occurred ten months later.

This $1.9B facility, staffed by approximately 1400 AMD employees, will at full capacity produce 6,000 eight-inch wafers per week. Currently, a collaborative, multi-cultural team is managing the planning, construction, and start up of this world class advanced wafer fabrication facility.
