"Suburban (Republican) neglect is one major reason why many of our inner cities are crumbling"

So people shooting each other and selling drugs in the streets and abandoning their families is fault of suburbanites? What a ridiculous belief.

"but the last thing many if not most Republicans from the 'burbs want to do is use their tax dollars to fix problems in the urban cores"

We think many of the problems can be fixed with low dollars. Law and order, a little personal responsibility, some hard work. These are things that work. That's how people get successful to begin with. Even if you disagree with this logic (which I am sure you do), it is a pretty lame excuse to use for not doing something about the actual problems. Makes me think you don't really care about them if the best you can come up with is that republicans don't want to spend their tax money to fix these issues.

Do you think money solves all issues? It only solves a few, like providing food, shelter and transportation. And those can all be legally attained in the U.S. by WORKING.

"Joe Worker at IBM couldn't do a damn thing to prevent the company from short-changing him by tens of thousands of dollars because the pension plan is controlled solely by the corporate suits"

I believe Joe worker can work for a company he likes if he is qualified. If he is not qualified, he should be happy to have a job. Your hatred for the people responsible for running these businesses is amazing. If the company you work for is screwing you THEN WORK SOMEWHERE ELSE.

"so we told the suits from corporate to take a long walk off a short pier"

You have told me about your mistrust and dislike for the company you work for before. I feel for you to have to work for such a++holes. If I was you I would go into business for myself or work for another company.

"I have yet to see you disagree with the Republican mantra on any topic"

I was just arguing with Thomas A. Watson yesterday regarding my dissapointment with President Bush's handling of the Israeli/Palestinian situation. Also I agree with most republican positions, so why would I argue against them? I am one of the only people on this thread that actually puts up the reasons that I feel a certain way. It is usually met with personal insults from the liberal posters on the thread. If you truly don't believe I can think for myself you are an idiot, but I think that you know that I can.

"I have no idea what you're talking about. Restate your question"

You had said that you felt that working men and women should have lower taxes. To which I replied:

The bottom 50% of U.S. residents only pay 4% of Federal taxes. How much lower can it go? And the top 50% can afford it, right?

So the specific question is HOW MUCH LESS SHOULD THE LOWER 50% pay than the current 4%. It should be an easy answer. It can only be 3%, 2%, 1% or 0% (assuming we will stick with whole numbers).

And I'm NOT on the computer all the time. I just came in to shut off the machine and your post popped up. If you respond, I'll get to it in the morning. I'm hitten' the hay.

Good night.
