Agree on lottery tickets. That govt. racket is a disgrace. But the discussion was about income taxes.

<<Actually, if you add in cigarette taxes and lottery tickets (the lotteries actually are forms of taxation), you would find that economically disadvantaged people actually pay quite a bit more than the figure you quoted.>>

It is THEIR choice dumbshit.

"Thanks for your lengthy cliche-ridden post"
You're welcome.

"just be lucky you have a job"
Note that this statement was in reference to people who have jobs that they are not qualified for.

"Answer: I don't believe the lower 50% should pay any more than what they're now paying"
Interesting. In your earlier post you said that working men and women should pay less. Don't they fall in this category? Cigarette and lottery taxes are voluntary. This is an area where my message would be for the democratic party to educate their constituents about these taxes. Of course they do not, because they are not really looking after the one's the claim to be looking out for. They are looking out for THEIR tax dollars, and hav no problem STEALING it from their gullable constituents (victims). A good example of a chance to actually FIX one of the problems for the poor, but much EASIER to blame all of their problems on republicans and suburbabnites as you do.

"I give you credit for that"
In the post I was responding to you told me that I just parrot what republicans tell me. As I said before, I think you knew that was incorrect.

I care about solving problems as much or more than you do. But when you (all liberals) call me a jerk, and say that I am the problem I say screw you so to speak. I can do that because I can take care of myself. It isn't pretty, but your position seems to be that there are certain people that should work their butt's off to get by in America, and then work extra hard to solve other people's problems too. There are some noble people who do this, and I try with some money for charities and what not, but I am more concerned with making sure that me and my family are ok. That is why I think it is a BAD STRATEGY to pit groups against each other and assume that one's problems are always caused by another.

The cliche about teaching someone to fish instead of giving them a fish is valid imo. I wish the dem party would do this. If they did, I would not be against them. But their strategy is to extract money (fish) from me and give it to someone else. While they call me and the few thousand a month I pay in taxes to live in America names.
