Rice is produced widely in Ontario in Lakes and Rivers. It is seasonally harvested by some commercial operations and finds its way into shelf products. It is illegal to farm rice in Ontario on a cultivated acreage, although it would be a good product. When this restriction is lifted, Ontario rice will gain wider acceptance.
