The advisory of the Arab League is well- attested. I do not blame the Palmach for seeking to secure a defensible area against the invasion, without having to guard its rear, and I have no reason to believe that more than the "few villages" alluded to were involved. As for Begin, he is charging the Arabs with spreading wild tails of Irgun butchery. Although it is likely that the allegations about Deir Yassin are true, it was also an isolated incident, and did not amount to the general butchery that was rumored. There is no reason to believe that a systematic campaign to get rid of Arabs was pursued......
