"This is not true. The technologies you mention are years from making a significant contribution"

Not true.

"whilst ANWR could within a year or a little more begin reducing our dependence on foreign oil"

Not true. The whole infrastructure needs to be built for ANWAR. Either a port or a pipeline needs to be built. Or are they gonna teleport the oil?

David, <Simply put, there is no cogent argument that can be made AGAINST drilling in ANWR>

Is there an urgent need to drill there right now? I'm having a hard time seeing why we need to go there immediately, unless we're aiming to collapse the worldwide price of oil so that less dollars flow into terrorist coffers.

I'm a conservative, so I'm not falling for the scare tactics of liberals. But I still don't see why the need to drill there is so urgent.

This is not true. The technologies you mention are years from making a significant contribution,

Solar and windmill power are providing energy now as I write this post.

whilst ANWR could within a year or a little more begin reducing our dependence on foreign oil,

Within a year? Right!! Link please.......and not from an oil company and a link that provides solid data behind its assertion.
