Ok. I will not use that label.

I appreciate that. Thank you.

But it seems that as a philosophy, or an economic theory, it seems that you find it appealing. Am I wrong?

Yes, you are wrong.....there is not much I like about it. Maybe in theory it would be a good thing but I am very much a capitalist.

I am very familiar with the theory, know many people who believe in it. The main problem, IMO is that it is just so contrary to human nature, that it has no chance of ever succeeding. It is not the implementation that is the problem. It is the theory itself.

I had thought so as well.......I particularly did not like the communal aspects of Marx's philosophy nor did I like the lack of competition it engenders. However, one of my Israeli friends is from a kibbutz that is set up much in the way of a communist society. I understood that many of the kibbutzim are that way. One of the financial mainstays of his kibbutz was this innovative irrigation system that someone in the kibbutz had invented. They were building and selling them to other places located in arid climates. It was proving to be very lucrative and everyone in the kibbutz benefited in the profits. No one seemed to object. And of course the kibbutz shared many other aspects of their daily lives. I think they even ate communally.

That's the closest to a true functional communist society that I have seen. While I am glad the possibility exists, its not for me.......I am very competitive and have a great deal of trouble sharing. ;~))
