In a duel between buildings and bulldozers

When we invaded France, our troops had to learn the hard way, like everybody else. They started out running around buildings when they were fighting "house to house", and got their butts shot off. You can get a good look at that type of fighting in the "Band of Brothers" episode called "Careton".

They finally learned to go from house to house inside, blowing out walls as they went. This lowered casualties dramatically.

I flew from Frankfort to Berlin when I was on leave in 1955. The Russians had not rebuilt any of the cities, and I was in a DC3 flying at about 3000 feet. The destruction in the cities that I saw from the plane, caused by our Bombers, was unbelievable. I was a 20 year old Corporal, and I thanked God I had not had to be in the middle of that mess. When I say "War is Hell", that is what comes to mind.

Do you believe that al Aqsa, Tanzim, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, etc. etc. are engaging the State of Israel in warfare?
