Dennis: Thanks. (But since Ramsey is back, a bit more)

A reminder for the thread, Qualcomm sold its "module" business to Sierra Wireless many moons ago.

Sierra Wireless was caught flat footed when Ricochet went belly up, since this was a major supply contract for them.

Now, Sierra Wireless is gaining some notice as a supplier to Verizon with its Aircard 555 and will be in a similar position with Sprint with its Aircard 500 (single frequency which is all Spring needs) when Sprint launches 1x.

Others will also supply CDMA 1x and CDMA 1x DO cards of course. GTRAN is one.

Since it would seem that one of the major new growth paths for CDMA (Qualcomm) is in PC related and PDA related uses, this might be worth watchiing.

Note: Sierra Wireless also has an "embedded" CDMA widget.

Best.

Chaz

PS And for those who look for "balance", this company also supplies GSM/GPRS cards for Europe, AT&T and whoever else in the world might be interested. <G>
