My perception is that on this thread, for the most part, the thread regulars believe that 9/11 was perpetrated, not by "Muslims" but by Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, who represent a fringe element of Muslims, with an agenda which is not shared by all Muslims. They espouse a belief system called "Islamism." It behooves us to help keep Muslims who are not Islamists from becoming overwhelmed by Islamism.

Those who are unable, or unwilling, to make that distinction, seem to be overwhelming the thread right now, unfortunately.

I can tell you that moving from an area heavily populated with Jewish people (NY Metro) to the Midwest, I find the support for Israel to be quite strong.

Where in the Midwest?

Lots of difference out there. If you just say you live in the Midwest and speak for it, it's not all that different from Hanson using folk who attended one of his talks as representative.
