Washington Times bought UPI in May, 2000. You are no doubt aware that the Reverend Sun Myung Moon owns the Washington Times. So UPI is part of the Moonie empire.

The ramifications of that depend on your point of view. We get both the Washington Times, and the Washington Post (or "Washington Compost," as my husband calls it.) I read the Post, he reads the Times. The WashTimes is Ok, just unabashedly conservative.

Reuters seems OK, to me, too, but pro-Israel hawks think it's biased in favor of Palestine.
