Much discussion has been made about forcing a solution on the parties. While the concepts involved in such a solution are I believe well understood by members of the thread, I wonder if we have any idea how to make that solution stick.

First question for the thread.

Who does the thread really feel can bear the burden of being the border police between the two sides?

The US should have learned what the costs would be from Lebanon, and I cannot believe that US Citizens want to see hundreds of boys come back in body bags again. How would an effective force be structured to minimize the risk of Americans replacing Israeli's in having to fight to stop terrorist from crossing the border. The UN, as has been pointed out, has failed in Lebanon, failed in Bosnia, and has previously failed on the border between Israel and Egypt. The EU has no credibility with the Israeli's and would likely not have the stomach for the costs.

Second Major Question:

It is documented that the educational system, the press, etc. in the Arab world has not shown itself to be tolerant of the State of Israel. Many Pro-Israeli people believe that this is a major problem for long term stability and that it would need to be addressed as part of such a total solution. How would the thread handle this issue, as well?
