I've also thought about the Nissan Altima, Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS, Toyota MR-2 and Celica GT-S, and Honda S-2000, but the Honda is too expensive. If I had kids I might get the Altima but I probably wont get it. I tried to test drive an MR-2 but they didn't have any at the dealer, also a small roadster may be less practical. I test drove an Elcipse GT but while it was ok it was not as good as the Acura.

Tim, and? Your question was?

In case you were asking our preference..........the Mustang GT is my call....preferably cherry red. ;~))

Tim,

I think Mustang GT had the most wonderfully sounding engine. I am not sure if it is true anymore with their current models. I have driven a Mustang (both GT and not GT) and I was not really impressed. I drove GT after I drove a Corvette, so you may understand why I was not impressed. If I went from Taurus to Mustang GT, my reaction might have much been different.

The non-GT mustang I have rented as a convertible left a lukewarm reaction. Well, nothing really came close to the Corvette experience.

Joe

>I'm thinking of buying a new car soon.

Hmmm... I was seriously looking at an Acura TL and an Infiniti I35 a couple of months ago... after deciding that (A) I didn't want to buy a car during the winter and (B) that I didn't want to look like a kid driving his dad's car, I held off for a bit.

After looking around once the spring started, I ended up buying an Oldsmobile Alero GLS. Nice and sporty, had everything I wanted, yet it's a 4-door (absolutely necessary). Took delivery on it last Thursday, put nearly 2000 miles on it over the weekend. Fun car- love the sport suspension...

I had looked at the Acura RSX Type S, and I'd have really considered it had they made it in a sedan.

A friend of mine drives a Subaru, and it's really nice and responsive.

As far as the Mustang goes, I've just had bad experiences with Fords, and besides, I don't like the looks of the recent models (mid-90s ones were gorgeous).

But what do I know?
