I can't think of a better reason to be suspicious of news sources than the recent, and ongoing, war of words about Jenin.

The New York Times and the Washington Post are not perfect - I am thinking of a story in the New York Times a couple of years ago about the ice at the North Pole melting - turns out this is an annual phenomenon. But I believe they ache to get it right.

My husband, on the other hand, calls them the New York Crimes and the Washington Compost. He also refuses to watch CNN.

I don't have a resolution for the problem of bias except to recognize it.
