All the doomsayers have been predicting a major and sustainable rise in gold for quite awhile now. Everytime some political or economic turmoil sufaces the buzz starts. Isn't it also true though that gold has been an underperformer as an investment for like 20 years or so. I guess if you believe in the worst case scenairo, you may see gold rise more. After all when the fear of Y2K was here, people actually stockpiled bottled water & canned goods...
