Their product is also dirty and getting out-dated and is doing more harm than good.

You need a lot of electricity to produce Hydrogen. The environmental movement won't let us make it from clean Nuclear power, so it we were going to use it, we would need to burn dirty old coal or oil. So Hydrogen is lose-lose also. It has just as much potential pollution involved with using it as we do using oil.

And what do you mean we have 7 years supply on hand?

The economics of oil are such that anytime we look like we are going to drop below roughly 7 years worth of oil on hand, the drilling companies get busy and start exploring. Nobody has to tell them. The "Invisible hand" takes over.
