Don't know for a fact, but feel reasonably sure that hi-tech is a relatively small part of Israeli economy....at least in terms of tax revenues. Many of those cos. that sprang up in the 90's have yet to be profitable.

Israel's Projected Tourism as a % of GDP, done before 9/11 by TSA Research showed an estimate of 3% of GDP.

You say occupation, I say terror. Israel occuppied since '67. The effects we are talking about occurred only after the Intifada. The intifada is not occupation but terror. The reason for the intifada, we can argue about, but I maintain it is because Arafat refused the Taba deal, not because of occupation. Israel had promised to leave the territories, if you believe Ross, Clinton, and Barak.
