That's different than "freebies", in my interpretation... I.e., if it's my money, and I give more or less to the government, which does more or less what is open and accountable with the money, that's one thing. If I have some sort of expectation of getting something for nothing from the government, that's entirely another. It is, in essence, immoral, since what I get for free is coerced from someone else, by threat of force. Those paid by the government see it differently, quite often. I've heard people say, and have said it myself when I was employed for a short time by the state, that "I pay taxes". Bullsh*. I only return a portion of income back to where it came. There's often a marked difference among those who are employed by government or paid ultimately with taxes. They often think of extra gov't money or benefits as "freebies", if they can get away with it. Taxpayers see it differently.
