I remember it was a diesel engine but was it a golf design back then.?

Have you notice how many stations now never store diesel. A great many stations years ago used to store diesel as it was expected to increase in demand as the diesle engines were giving better mileage and lower fuel cost per gallon... It seems this was another area the public never bought into. Hence, tanks were converted to third grade gas as it was introduced in older stations.

ps vw golf gives 60 miles a gallon... so we have the ability to reduce our demand but public want the larger car. Saudi must be watching these events closely... One thing Saudi does not want is high prices to drive our country to another source of fuel.
