Contrary thoughts...you may just consider...

This is an actual position that I made this week. It was
$100,000 placed into RYVNX on Tuesday. (RYVNX is double
inverse to the NDX.) That $100,000 grew to $115,734 in only
four days.

Index funds from Rydex and Pro Funds have a definite advantage when the current is running swiftly (which it IS!).
