Now that PALM's competitors are looking crippled

I wouldn't call Compaq ipaq a crippled competitor as long as they don't saddle it with a lot of debt if they spin it off from from that HP/Compaq mishmash.

Palm's long term competitors are not HAND and RIMM. They are Nokia, Symbian, Microsoft, Sony, Samsung, etc. Hardly crippled.

American spirit

sort of like the CDMA vrs GSM market. GSM is a far better technology,in my mind, but that never hurt Qualcom and CDMA. Although going forward it will. I firmly believe,a market accepted technology;aka, cell phones
although existing in a competing market the winner emerging will be the one with the best advertisments and presentations;eveything being equal that is. Most consumers haven't a clue nor care to know.
