Re: This does not sound like a system which will ever be practical for the general purpose market and for the first time the notion that "these processors are for the server market and not the desktop market" will be true for at least several years. Jeez, how can you complain about a chip with the minor drawback that a mulit-pass data optimizing compiler must used if you want to get decent performance. I know that I'm looking forward to re-compiling Word every time I want to edit a document.... And re-compiling Oracle any time a new table is added to the database (or more than a few entries to an existing table).... Just re-compile Photoshop for each image you want to edit, is that asking so much? :-)
