I don't see any connection between liberty and drugs, Rich. The fact that they are illegal is mainly a moral statement. I'm not sure it's that good an idea, since its main effect is to drive up the price and profits of drug runners. By the way, drug runners have plenty of guns. I got one of them through the BATF one time for shooting cones off trees to test for ripeness.

You seem to value the "right" of someone to get high over the right of someone to defend themselves. If we legalize all drugs (as I think you are proposing), who will pay for the medical care and counseling to help the people who cannot handle them as well as they thought they could? And who told you that drugs only hurt the user? Have you never seen or heard of families torn apart or crimes committed because of drugs? Just the other day a man was killed by his employee who had been high for 24 hours or some such thing. Took the perp a couple days in the hospital before he was clean enough to be arrested. Tell the dead guy's girl friend that drugs only hurt those who do them. I am almost sure you know that statement (drugs only hurt the user) is not true.

After considering your statement, I assume you are either fortunate enough to not have anyone in your family using drugs or you and eveyone you know is wrecked and doesn't know the difference. I sincerely hope it is the former....
