Ggamer, you summed up the Palestinian position perfectly in that post. Regardless of whose side one may be on, you cannot ignore the Palestinian cry or try to sweep it under the rug and hope nobody notices.

The M.E. is a tempest that'll rage forever, imo.

I assume the Indian tribe whose land you are living on was give the free choice to leave as well. But let's not stop there...

Here in California, the Californios were having a pleasant time ranching until the gringos put them in jail. We own some land up north that was part of the Dos Pueblos Rancho. Let me know when you can find the orignal European owners so I can pay them what is was worth. I'm bypassing the Indians cuz the last one died up there in 1958.

And what about the Celtics? No, not the sports team, the first organized folks who brought order to Europe. Damn Romans killed most of them.

At some point ggamer, all these past experiences are going to have to stop creating current problems. I mean, I'm as pissed off as the next Christian for losing the Middle East to the Arabs after the Crusades, but I'm not in favor of going back now and demanding our land back. I suppose you could say the Arabs were there first, but we should bring that up with Mongols and discuss what piece they should be given back first.

On and on it goes.

Israel has modern borders. It needs to protect those borders. If wackos want to send suicide bombers into cafes today, the supporting groups need to pay the consequences TODAY.

ggamer. I am sympathetic for the plight of both groups. There is a way, but it is not easy. Reprisals bring more reprisals. The in war, the cycle could only be broken by one group decimating the other --borders on genocide and a terrible choice. In peace, there could be prosperity and mutal assistance.

The only real solution I can imagine is for:
1) Other Aab countries stay out of it--no arms,
2) Palistinians to imitate Gaundi and ML King's non violent methods. The world anfd the Isralis show good conscience and let these people have a country

gg- Is it the Arabs who only have the right to say they were dispossed? How about the Judeans? Don't they have rights too?

The Arabs have plenty of land and a good chunk of the Worldd proven reserves of oil. They have kept some of their people as refugees since 1948 deliberately. Millons of refugees have been settled in Europe since then and on other peoples land no one minds Europe just absorbed them and got on with it. Only the Arabs seem to have kept a large number of their people living as refugees of over fifty years.

Best,

L
