9:35PM Credence raises revenues outlook for Q2 (CMOS) by Allen Wan
Semiconductor-test equipment maker Credence Systems Corp. (CMOS) said it expects second-quarter revenues to be up about 10 percent from the first quarter as a result of improved business conditions. In addition, Credence anticipates a book-to-bill ratio above one for the second quarter, and does not expect any significant order cancellations. Shares ended 3.7 percent higher at $20.24 on Tuesday.


5:20PM Adobe: Strong sales, reaffirms Q2 outlook (ADBE) by Anne Stanley
Adobe Systems (ADBE), a maker of publishing software, on Tuesday reaffimred its fiscal second-quarter forecast and said it's had strong sales of its updated Photoshop software. The company, based in San Jose, Calif., says it still sees seocnd-quarter pro forma earnings of between 24 and 27 cents a share on revenue of $305 million to $325 million. The company is scheduled to report results June 13. Adobe says it is cutting about 200 jobs and also consolidating offices in connection with its acquisition of Accelio Corp. Adobe sees acquisition costs between $12 million and $15 million, with a restructuring charge of $1 million to $2 million, for severance and related costs in the second quarter. Adobe gained $2.74 to $39.96 ahead of the news.
